Over on the YouTube channel (yes, Sometimes I Quilt also comes in video format), I have worked through my process for putting together templates for hand piecing.
The quilt I am working on here is my version of 36 Allbrook Hill; from the Quiltmania book Quilts from La Gare and other Mewsings, by Margaret Mew. As we all know, Quiltmania books are now no more, but there are still a few copies of this one about. I really like Margaret’s style, and also her approach to workshops. If you get the opportunity try and go to one with her.
The notions I am using in this video are:
- Crayola Ultra-Washable markers
- Aurifil 80wt thread
- 160 GSM paper
- Fiscars 1/16″ hole punch (I don’t talk about this in the video, but I use this because I got sick of stabbing myself with a pin when I tried to put the holes in the templates)
